The George Washington Carver Regional High School opened in Culpeper County, Virginia, in October 1948, with more than 400 minority students from the
4-county region including Culpeper, Orange, Madison and Rappahannock. When full school integration was implemented in 1968, it closed. Its last enrollment had less than 15 students.
Dedicated former students organized to form the George Washington Carver Regional High School Alumni Association. They fulfill their mission of educating the public through our signature programs which include scholarships and the Carver 4-County Museum. In 2025, the legacy group took the reins to ensure that the invaluable work of our elders continues to thrive.
